Fall Fishing Tips - Tips For Catching More Fish This Fall

As the fall swings into high gear many types of fishing really start to heat up. As a matter of fact the fall can be the best time of the year for fishing and I’ve personally caught most of my “trophy” fish during the fall fishing season. In this article I will provide you with some great fall fishing  tips  that will make you much more comfortable and successful when fishing in the fall of the year.

During the fall of the year, many outdoors peoples attention turn to football, hunting, and/or getting ready for winter sports, rather than fishing, and this is a mistake. Don’t put your fishing gear away just because the leaves start to change color and the air becomes a bit cooler. Make no mistake about it; fall fishing is the best fishing of the year in many instances.

These fall fishing  tips  are being listed in no particular order. Add on or all of them to your arsenal and get out there and enjoy all that nature has to offer in the fall of the year.

  1. Fall Is The Best Time Of The Year For Live Bait – In the fall of the year live bait can be extremely effective. This is especially true in river and stream fishing situations where wading is a priority. Allowing live bait to flow naturally with the current of a river or stream as it ‘rolls’ along the bottom is an extremely effective fall fishing tactic. A great way to rig your live bait (especially in the case of worms) is a set of gang hooks. These hooks allow for a totally natural presentation of many types of live bait.

  2. Staying Warm Is Extremely Important – Nothing will ruin a perfectly good fishing trip like being cold and in the fall becoming cold can be quite easy. This is why you always want to have head and hand protection with you on the water in case they are needed. Carrying a beanie and a pair of fishing gloves with you in the fall of the year is of the utmost importance. This may be this best of the fall fishing  tips  being offered in this article. Most of your body heat escapes from your head and keeping your hands warm keeps the rest of you comfortable when the weather turns cold.

  3. Be On The Water At The Best Times – First of all in the fall of the year, waiting until the sun can ‘warm up’ the water a little bit is always a good idea. Fishing in the early mornings usually isn’t the best option for many species of fish in the fall when the nights are much cooler, thus cooling off the water. Another great  tip  is to pay attention to the phase of the moon. The moon phase can have a dramatic effect of the feeding behavior of fish and using this information to your advantage is a great idea.

These simple fall fishing  tips  will help you have a much more comfortable and successful fishing trip. Add one or all of these  tips  to your fall fishing repertoire sooner rather than later, you’ll be glad you did.
